A celebration of Edits

We are happy to introduce a new series, Dig Dug, where we invite you to take a deeper dive into a particular musical subject be it genre, artist, geography, technology - whatever!

For our first edition we'll take a stroll through the fields of Edits as they relate to music where the basics of cut and paste have been elevated beyond function, recontextualising the originals into new forms and styles, repurposing lost music and popular hits for new audiences, giving the recordings a parallel life. Fans of Burroughs' cut up technique need only apply the same lens to magnetic tape... and beyond.

We'll listen to some famous editors like Mr. K and Ron Hardy, but also local artists who've gained global recognition via labels like 7 inches of Love, Red Motorbike, Honey Disco. And More!
