About
Following on the success of Tun Tun's Sunday Deep Listening sessions, we are very happy to present a focused listen to one classic album and one very curious deep dig.
Originally released in 1982, O'Shea's self titled album is his only recorded output. Heard here is Mo Chara (My Friend :Gaelic) a 17 stringed instrument O'Shea designed combining a dulcimer, sitar and zelochord which he played with chopsticks via amplification and electronic processing. A street performer who travelled Europe and the Middle East, O'Shea came to London in the 70s and found himself a unique niche in the city's musical landscape, connecting folk, jazz, post-punk, and electronics. He even worked with Rick Wakeman, though it was members of the Wire that would eventually release this recording on their Dome imprint.
