Join us on July 22 as dear friend of the house and fellow caraqueño Martín Alé takes us on a journey through salsa, bugalú and the genres' musical roots and rhizomes. He will present a selection of songs chosen from several records, with a spoken introduction for each. We recommend this night for any Latin rhythm enthusiasts as well as those wanting to join us in solidarity with Venezuela's recent earthquake victims.*

100% of the funds collected will be directed towards direct mutual aid organizations on the ground, whose needs change daily but span everything from food and water to diapers, tents and . Proofs of transfer will be posted once funds are disbursed to us and sent to Venezuelan accounts.

*On June 24th June, magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 earthquakes hit Caracas and the coastal state of La Guaira within minutes of each other—flattening entire high-rise apartment blocks and upending hundreds of thousands of lives. Much of Venezuela currently lives in diaspora (the result, in part, of another series of man-made political disasters spanning decades), and so the shockwaves of this natural catastrophe have been felt all over the world among a people already mourning their country.
